About this collection

This research guide compiled by The Seattle Public Library's Special Collections Department in collaboration with the King County Archives provides countless resources for researching the history of houses, commercial buildings, parks and gardens, roads, bridges, churches and clubs.

All buildings have a history and you can find how a building or structure was used, when and why they were built, who occupied them, and how the structure was valued in the past and present. This helps us understand and appreciate our communities, growth and changes in the city of Seattle and all of King County.
