King County Atlases
The 1889 and 1907 King County atlases show early land ownership for the county, providing names and property boundaries of original and subsequent purchasers, grantees, claimants, etc. The 1889 atlas shows original owners who received the land from the federal government via federal land patents (typically, donation land claims, military scripts, homestead grants, and cash sales). The atlases are arranged by Township and Range, with each sheet covering a single township. Each township is divided into 36 sections.
You can use the map below to navigate to specific townships across atlases. Please note that all sections of the index map do not have a map available. As we continue scanning King County Atlases, more maps will be searchable through this page.
